Is TCU generous with scholarships? ›

TCU awards numerous merit-based and need-based scholarships each academic year through the generosity of alumni and private donors.

At Texas Christian University, we believe a diverse community is essential to a quality education. The Community Scholars Program was created to meet this goal. This elite program has grown to include 13 underserved public high schools where top students are recruited for full-ride scholarships to TCU.

Renewal Requirements for Academic Scholarships

First-year level students must successfully complete 24 TCU hours with at 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA to renew for the upcoming year.

We aim to enroll 40 first-year and five transfer Chancellor's Scholars each year.

Qualifying students that designate Texas Tech University as their first choice institution are eligible to receive 100% of federally approved cost of attendance including tuition, fees, room, board, books, transportation and a personal/miscellaneous allowance. Learn more here.

In conclusion, TCU is indeed an expensive institution, but it is not the most expensive in the US. Its total cost falls roughly in the middle among the pricier private colleges.

Dean's Honor List. To be eligible for the Dean's Honor List, first-year students must earn at least a 3.6 GPA; sophom*ores must earn at least 3.7; and juniors and seniors must earn at least 3.8.

The Chancellor's Scholarship is TCU's most competitive merit award and includes full tuition for eight semesters. Students who are selected to compete for a Chancellor's Scholarship will be invited to participate in an interview weekend, which usually takes place in February.

To make their dreams possible, nearly 80 percent of our students receive financial aid through educational loans, grants and work-study. The amount of need is determined by your FAFSA and CSS Profile.

The acceptance rate at TCU is 56.1%.

This means the school is moderately selective. The school expects you to meet their requirements for GPA and SAT/ACT scores, but they're more flexible than other schools. If you exceed their requirements, you have an excellent chance of getting in.
