After seeing a similar post on another page on here, it occurred to me that this information, about deleting a deceased person's Facebook Account, or creating a Facebook Memorial Page from their account, would be useful. As it is a long piece of information, I have put it on my blog but the link below should take you there.#humanist #funeral #celebrant #bereavement #grief #mourning #support #funeraldirector #facebook #deleting #humanistsuk #ceremonies

Over the past ten days, reddit normies tried their first protest. The first chatter included telling reddit when it would be finished (galactic brain 😭) and the second involved threatening the very mods that essentially pay reddit to be mods solely to retain their influence...which worked. Most are back including gallowboob.I can see where this goes very quickly but im not here to slander reddit, im here to slander these shillouts that thought a protest had a defined end-date and backed up immediately. No wonder all of these reddit communities hate their mods.I mean, with the top 50 subreddits containing 10m+ users who are all mostly the same people between them or multi-accounts.This gallowboob is mod for ~7 of them.Edit; Thirty seconds of typing gallowboob into my browser and I already found threads he hasnt checked the social credit score for. Amazing corruption tbh.The post about gallow in question; https://lnkd.in/e_Wx7RRYGot a problem with your perception as a leader? Just throw an unreviewed post on the infidels entire thread making it NSFW :)Edit2; r/pics is literally just john oliver 😭r/pics; https://lnkd.in/eEHxqpE6#reddit

Reddit, a popular social media platform known for its subreddit communities, is experiencing a blackout as several subreddits are going private on Monday.Subreddits are individual forums where users gather to discuss specific topics of interest. Rather than following individual users, Reddit users, also called Redditors, join and engage with various subreddits to view posts related to their interests.Read more: https://lnkd.in/dD87HRgQ#reddit #Quora #socialmedia #posts #viralreels #viralpost #Pakistan #gettoptrends #trending #top

My 2 cents on what's happening at Reddit, Inc. right now...If you've noticed, most major subreddits have been made private for over a day now. Why?Reddit wants to start charging third parties for using its data. Two other points of note:1. It is believed that just 5 mods control most of the largest subreddits. If those 5 people choose to take their ball and go home, it's going to be a bloodbath for Reddit's user base.2. This protest might just be a 48-hour one. If that's the case, I'm not sure if it would have a huge impact. My thoughts: As a platform, Reddit relies on UGC to survive. Users haven't been able to access anything for over a day and eventually they'll start searching for alternatives. Do they exist? Who knows. Remember when Tumblr banned p*rn? That traffic moved elsewhere. Who says it won't happen here too?Now the takeaway:If I had to share one piece of advice for anyone building communities for their brands - The moment you lose track of what your audience wants, be prepared for armageddon.#reddit #community #socialmediamarketing #digitalmarketing #marketing

According to some Christians, X/Twitter has become a cesspool with hate speech and racism. They, therefore, leave the platform or are considering leaving. Are you one of them? Share your story with CNE at info@cne.news!

In case you haven't been following the drama over at Reddit, there has been a protest going on over the past few days. They limited access to the API, which has led to most 3rd party apps shutting down.Mods of subreddits use apps and bots to help make their moderation easier, so they're understandably pissed about it.After all, they're free labor to Reddit. All of their work is unpaid, and now it's going to be harder. Some massive subreddits have gone on hiatus indefinitely, e.g. r/nba, r/music, r/videos, with millions of members between them. Some went dark for a couple of days to protest. But my new favorite method of protest is r/pics. Instead of staying dark, they're now only allowing "pictures of John Oliver looking sexy."That sub is one of the default ones users are subscribed to. It has 30M members by itself. And now pictures of John Oliver are flooding everyone's feeds. It's creating so much confusion and delicious chaos. I was definitely confused at first. And the PR person in me already knows what's going to come next. The inevitable Last Week Tonight segment where John Oliver breaks down what's happening. If they keep it up, I'm calling it now. It's going to create more outrage and public pressure on the platform to backtrack on its stance.I don't know if their mods consciously chose him to trigger that response, but it's both hilarious and a smart move. It's dead-on for what he covers in segments and for his sense of humor about himself. With social media, all of the power is in the hands of users. You need to give people a platform that serves their needs. If they get fed up enough, users cause trouble, abandon the platform, and seek alternatives.Or get weird.I love the internet sometimes.#Reddit #SocialMedia #SocialNetworking #PublicRelations #DigitalMarketing

Bonkers! The Reddit story keeps getting crazier, and it's already freaking bonkers. So here is the story so far: Moderators took some of the most popular communities private. Reddit’s CEO made things worse by holding an AMA, writing a letter to his team, giving an interview where he praised Twitter, and then advancing stricter rules on moderators. Some moderators dug deeper foxholes, causing Reddit to eject moderators and change the power moderators hold. Now, hackers have jumped into the fray with a $4.5 million ransom unless Reddit steps back its plans on moderation and API pricing. I don’t think Reddit is wrong. Everyone appears to profit from the product they make but them, but man, this storyline is out of control. Some would say the inmates are running the prison. After all, some of this is a rebuke of platforms we previously considered “open.” Reddit “owns” the contributions we’ve given over the years, but would a distributed network that promises genuine openness to be the solution?

🚫 Reddit Blackout 🚫 Understanding the Controversial API Access Charge Something big is happening in the Reddit community today. Numerous subreddits have shut down in protest against the controversial plan to charge for access to Reddit's API. This move threatens to eliminate several third-party apps that rely on the API, disrupting the vibrant ecosystem of user-generated content.🔍 What's happening:➡️ Many subreddits have gone private, blocking user access and comments, to show their disagreement with the API access charges.➡️ Subreddits involved in the protest include r/funny, r/aww, r/gaming, r/music, r/gadgets, and even r/nba during the NBA finals.➡️ Reddark, a tracking site, reports that 7,177 subreddits have gone dark, while others have switched to read-only mode or expressed opposition to the API change.⚡ Why it matters:➡️ Reddit's API allows third-party apps to interact with the platform, but the new pricing structure will charge $0.24 per 1,000 API calls for high-volume access.➡️ The API change threatens the viability of third-party apps like Apollo, which would cost $20 million per year to operate under the new pricing.➡️ Moderators also raise concerns about the impact on third-party tools used to moderate the platform effectively.📢 The community's voice:➡️ The protest message from r/jokes highlights that Reddit should prioritize long-term viability over short-lived gains.➡️ Moderators from r/pics stress the need for effective moderation tools and the freedom to choose how they access Reddit, warning that contributors may leave if these concerns aren't addressed. While Reddit CEO Steve Huffman has stood firm on the API changes, the protest demonstrates the strong opposition within the community. The battle for open access to the API and the future of third-party apps hangs in the balance.Share your views on this!!Follow Raj Kuwar for latest tech insights!!#OpenAPI #RedditProtest #CommunityPower #redditblackout

Reddit WTF?!Major Reddit communities continue with their blackout indefinitely. If you need to get up to date on this, Reddit announced on June 1st that they would begin charging third-party applications for using Reddit's data and user information, where they would be charged on their usage.Reddit claims that external sites are profiting off their users by showing them advertisem*nts without paying for their data. These upcoming price charges could lead to some of the platform's biggest third-party apps being forced to shut down as it becomes unaffordable to run them. This all has come about due to Reddit's upcoming public listing; until now, the API was free for all.The reaction to all of the above was one of mass protest from the biggest subreddits, where they are in support of developers, saying it would make some of them "ludicrously more expensive for developers to run"Thousands of the biggest subreddits have committed to staying dark, locking their communities without posting content. Imagine if everyone stopped posting on Twitter. YouTube? TikTok and Instaagram? This is what's happening here with Reddit! And it looks like they aren't backing down, with further commitments to stay dark and more communities joining the blackout. If Reddit doesn't back down on the changes they are adamant to bring in, millions of people will be without their favourite communities for good.Without community, Reddit is nothing!#Reditt #RedditAPI #SocialMedia #SocialMarketing #Community
